Welcom to my Blog and Intent

With the New Year approaching and the the current state of FuckedUpNess with Donald Chump…I mean Trump taking office soon.I want to connect with the world through food and baked goods,and bring some sunshine on an otherwise rotten presidency. My intent with this blog is to test certain recipes that I am interested in trying to either make or veganize. I want to show people that it is possible to have access to these ingredients, and that yes, you are able to do these type of things. I believe there is a certain importance (or rather pressure) placed on having to have being trained to be a chef or baker. I’m not saying people should not have a basic understanding of how to use knives,or to know the difference between baking soda and baking powder (they’re both leavening agents). But Baking Soda is a base it’s alkaline…so when when mixed with an acid such as vinegar,lemon juice,etc...,bubbles of carbon dioxide are formed,creating the leavening in your dough or batter instantly . . Baking Powder will create leavening on its own when it is mixed with a wet ingredient and heated, but unless it is balanced with an acidic ingredient, the resulting taste may be metallic. The result the batter rises for a longer period of time creating a fluffier cake,muffin,or whatever. Now that I’ve schooled you on that……..CREATE,FAIL,MAKE MISTAKES,RESEARCH,Do what you want! Learn from them and Create Your Own Future! Don’t let anyone tell you,you can't! 

While I strive to show you some my beloved recipes and new recipes I’m working on that may not otherwise be accessible unless veganized for the vegans out there. I do have to state…I Am Not Vegan!….Ask any of my friends or family out there I just happen to enjoy baking or cooking vegan 90% of the time. My partner is also not a vegan,but he is gracious and supportive of my efforts so he throws me a bone,and will try most if not all my recipes that I make. I don’t try to pull the wool over anyone’s eyes by not telling them it’s vegan (I’m not in the business of lying,or try to trick,or manipulate anyone into trying something they don’t want!) I occasionally will be posting some meat friendly recipes….if you think…. to quote that cry-baby Morrissey “MEAT IS MURDER” just scoot along don’t bother reading my blog. If you're a Vegan who is open to seeing meat dishes on my blog feel free to stay...I just don't want anyone on my blog lecturing me on the dangers of meat and the industry. I'm well aware of it...this is my lifestyle.

With that being said I’m sure a lot of people will have questions about ingredients that they are unfamiliar with, or ideas for substitutions, and I welcome them and will answer them. Being new with this blog I have yet to make a decision whether I’ll be posting the recipes,or just documenting my experiments and experiences. So no need to pack your bags just sit back relax and enjoy the ride.

Full Disclosure: I will list the ingredients for sure,and since most people are worried about how expensive vegan cooking and baking can be…… Fuck it I’ll put up a price list of every ingredient,and break it down to how much it would be per serving. Let it be known the prices will reflex where I live and the stores and co-ops in my area.
